Job summary

Transport for London seeks an Electrical Technician to maintain, fault-find and repair electrical systems on ferries and shore-side equipment. You will be the first contact for technical issues and support maintenance delivery across the site, under supervision.

The role requires Level 2 Electrical NVQ (or equivalent), strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of power management systems. Occupational Health clearance is required, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification of Level 2 Electrical NVQ or equivalent (essential).
  • Knowledge of electronic & power management systems (essential).
  • Strong methodical approach to diagnostic and problem solving (essential).

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace wiring equipment or fixtures.
  • Examine electrical wiring and equipment with testing devices to mitigate risks and ensure safe operability.
  • Diagnose faulty systems or parts using tools to identify breakdown causes.
  • Inspect electrical systems to spot hazards or defects.
  • Prepare drawings or follow blueprints for wiring layouts.
  • Direct or train staff to maintain and repair electrical wiring and fixtures.
  • Perform routine maintenance as per the planned maintenance system.
  • Maintain all certification and compliance documentation.
