A major water utility provider in the UK is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal operation of electrical assets in sewage treatment facilities. The role includes proactive and reactive maintenance, fault diagnostics, and support for system control. Required qualifications include the 18th Edition Electrical Regulations and a full UK driving licence. Starting salary is £38,573 with competitive benefits, including a bonus scheme and training opportunities.
Our Waste Water Recycling team has a great opportunity for you to join as our new Electrical Maintenance Technician.
The position offers an opportunity to be part of a forward‑thinking team working on a variety of equipment and assets, where you will have the chance to embrace curiosity and develop new skills outside of your normal day‑to‑day activities.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our treatment processes are working optimally to deliver important work enhancing our region’s rivers. The role will consist of:
You will be based at one of our main sewage treatment works depending on home location and will be provided with a vehicle for business use, laptop, safety clothing and tools appropriate to the job.
The core working hours are Monday to Friday, with participation in a 24/7 stand‑by rota.
As part of your ongoing professional development, you will be required to upskill to LV/HV SAP, which will come with an additional allowance on top of your basic salary.
Along with your experience, you must hold:
You’ll be expected to know how to work with process control systems and have a working knowledge of industrial electrical installation requirements and standards. In Severn Trent we use a number of different devices, so your experience working with various IT systems will be great.
You must have sound diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Basic instrumentation skills are desirable but not essential as there will be an opportunity to upskill and develop a second skill set.
