Job summary

Imperium Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's maintenance team at a busy Blackburn manufacturing site. You will maintain, fault-find, repair and improve electrical equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Working alongside electrical and mechanical teams, you will support planned maintenance, installations and modifications, while adhering to health and safety standards and keeping thorough maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance in industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical control systems, motors and machinery.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform fault-finding.
• Maintain motors, control panels, sensors, inverters and electrical systems.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of electrical equipment.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Complete maintenance records and report recurring faults.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to maximise equipment reliability.
• Identify opportunities to improve machinery performance and reduce downtime.
• Follow safe isolation procedures and ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant electrical standards.
