XCL Group are working alongside a client based in Wythenshawe, who are market leaders with in the polymer and plastic manufacturing sector and are they’re looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical bias and they will be responsible for maximising productivity and minimising downtime by contributing to the manufacturing and packaging equipment ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine checks on manufacturing and packaging equipment, carrying out any planned / preventative maintenance.
  • Identify any issues related to hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and being able to resolve them.
  • Contribute ideas to the improvement of the cost and quality of the manufacturing performance.
  • Oversee and manage the installation of new machinery and equipment on site.
  • General maintenance on the fire system, sprinkler systems and other systems within the building.
  • Organise and assist external contractors with any specialised works required.
  • Support and train all new employees that join the maintenance department and offer industry / machine knowledge across the site.
  • Ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance to all health and safety regulations.
  • Work with external contractors and suppliers to obtain necessary services.
Job Requirements
  • Past experience in a maintenance role within the plastics industry would be an advantage.
  • Ideally have 18th Edition & FLT Licence.
  • Have a working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and be electrical bias.
  • Must be capable of reading and working from technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, in a fast‑paced environment with exceptional problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to work flexible shifts and can respond to emergencies if and when needed.
Hours
  • Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 16:00pm
  • Friday 7:30am – 14:00pm
