Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their Group Engineering team, supporting production across multiple sites in Oldham, Rochdale, and Littleborough. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems, reducing downtime, and supporting ongoing engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to engineering issues and breakdowns to meet production demands.
  • Carry out routine inspections and testing of electrical systems and portable equipment.
  • Use preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, BS 7671, and customer standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team to improve process efficiency.
  • Liaise with external contractors and maintain essential stock levels.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to overtime, shutdown periods, and call-out cover.
About You
  • Completed a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship or electrical qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance engineering role.
  • Knowledge of A.C. and D.C. drives; experience with PLC systems.
  • Experience working with ATEX equipment is an advantage.
  • Willingness to undertake mechanical work (approx. 30% of the role).
  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
