Job summary

Yunex Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support critical highway infrastructure, traffic signals and intelligent roadside systems. You will perform electrical testing, fault diagnosis and inspections, and assist in commissioning IP communication systems.

The role offers a structured training programme, hands-on learning with experienced engineers, and the chance to work with AI camera and vehicle-detection technologies.

Qualifications

• Electrical 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification is required.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electrotechnical discipline is desirable.
• Desirable: BTEC HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in engineering.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering is desirable.
• Mechanical experience using hand tools is preferred.
• Experience using power tools is preferred.
• IT: comfortable using laptops/tablets and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical testing, fault diagnosis and equipment inspections.
• Complete cable testing and fault-finding activities.
• Assist in setting up and commissioning IP communication systems.
• Complete reactive maintenance and planned inspection activities.
• Submit accurate job reports, site records and closure documentation.
• Develop competence on Yunex and third‑party equipment.
• Support deployment and maintenance of new technologies, including AI camera systems and vehicle/pedestrian detection tech.
