Job summary

G.S Stothers Smoke Ventilation Specialists Ltd. in Newtownards is seeking an Electrical Service Engineer to specialise in our smoke ventilation department. You will maintain and service systems across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, handling planned and reactive work, plus emergency call-outs and new installations.

We provide extensive training, and require a full driving licence. The role includes company van, mobile phone, tablet, pension, specialist tools and ongoing development

Qualifications

• 18th Edition BS7671 qualification or equivalent required.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• Proven experience as Electrical Service Engineer in commercial/industrial enviro.
• Strong fault finding, diagnostic and reporting skills.
• Full clean driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on sites across NI and ROI.
• Carry out scheduled reactive maintenance on sites across NI and ROI.
• Respond to emergency call-outs for existing clients across NI and ROI.
• Work on new installations across NI and ROI.

Due to consistent business growth, our company are currently recruiting for the role of an Electrical Service Engineer to specialise in our smoke ventilation department.

Position Overview and Responsibilities - Electrical Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks on a day to day basis;

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on sites across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
• Carrying out scheduled reactive maintenance on sites across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
• Responding to emergency call-outs for existing clients across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
• Working on new installations across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated individual with an exceptional work ethic who can work both within a team and as an individual.

We can provide extensive training, where required.

• 18th Edition - BS7671 Wiring Regulations Qualification or equivilent
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Equivalent
• Proven experience working as an Electrical Service Engineer within the commercial and industrial environment
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• A good understanding of Health and Safety requirements
• Full, clean, driving licence holder (essential)

Desired Criteria

• Experience working with fire safety ventilation systems (AOVs, smoke shafts, dampers, car park heat and fume exhaust systems and control systems)
• Familiar with EN12101 standards Strong customer service skill
• Trouble-shooting abilities
• Competent written and verbal reporting skills
• Basic understanding of pneumatic controls
• Experience in use with 24v DC, 230v and 415v AC systems
• CSR/ CSCS (Optional)
• IPAF (Optional)
• PASMA(Optional)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual.
• Ability to record work accurately, both on work sheets and computer based systems.
• Willingness to travel
• Regards personal safety as priority.
