Job description

Location: Multi-site role (primarily across agricultural and processing facilities in East Anglia / Suffolk area)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 48 hours per week (Monday - Friday, typical start 6:00 am)
On-call: Alternate weeks/weekends (paid additionally)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Agricultural Maintenance Manager, you will play a key hands‑on role in keeping our agricultural and domestic equipment running safely and efficiently in a highly regulated food‑production environment.

This is a genuinely varied position that combines reactive fault‑finding, planned preventative maintenance, and new installations – ideal for someone who enjoys diverse daily challenges and wants to develop their career within a supportive company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems and equipment
  • Safely isolate equipment, diagnose faults (visual, mechanical, and electrical), and perform effective repairs
  • Install new electrical systems and associated equipment, completing appropriate certification and testing
  • Participate fully in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota (with the opportunity to become an Authorised Person)
  • Maintain high standards of safety and compliance at all times
  • Replace worn or defective parts to ensure smooth, reliable operation
  • Work flexibly across multiple sites as required
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation / Maintenance
  • City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection & Testing – essential
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – preferred (training provided if required)
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Solid understanding of commercial and residential installations (agricultural experience a distinct advantage)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills and a flexible, can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritise tasks, and perform well under pressure
  • Commitment to safe working practices
