Wienerberger Ltd is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our Broomfleet site near Gilberdyke. You will work hands-on in an in-house team, performing electrical maintenance, PLC programming, and troubleshooting to keep production running smoothly.

You will be involved in preventive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement, with a focus on safety and quality standards in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• electrically biased engineer with manufacturing / factory experience
• minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering
• strong commitment to safety and health and safety best practice

Responsabilités

• Install and maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment
• Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
• Fault finding and repairs on equipment
• Program Siemens PLCs and other PLCs
• Use testing equipment to locate faults
• Promote Lean thinking in maintenance tasks
• Attend breakdowns to restore production
• Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
• Adhere to quality systems and BSEN ISO 9001 standards

About the role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer (known internally as a Maintenance Electrician) at our Broomfleet site, you will be part of our hands on inhouse team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly.

From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.

Our engineers have a varied role, so youll get the chance to use a variety of electrical skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer.

We will provide you with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer where you will

• Install and maintaining all electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery
• Operating a preventative electrical maintenance system
• Faulting finding and repairs
• Program Siemens & other programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
• Promote Lean thinking
• Attend breakdowns
• Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
• Adhere to Wienerbergers quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001

This site produces Roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK.

This position is based at our Broomfleet site, which is near Gilberdyke and is easily commutable from Goole, Market Weighton, Hessle, and Brough.

Hours of Work:

7.00am 7.00pm (2 days) and 7.00pm to 7.00am (2 nights) on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern

About You

You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing / factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.

Safety is our biggest priority, so youll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.

Youll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.

As this role is sometimes physically demanding, youll be fit enough to perform your various duties.

Youll also have

• Strong team playing skills
• Good communication (written and verbal)
• Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes
• Analytical & problem-solving skills
• Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics
• Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers)

Desirable

• 17th / 18th edition qualified (although training could be provided)
• Completed a hands-on apprentice training programme
• HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience in heavy industry manufacturing

• Basic rate: £20.00 - £24.50 per hour (based on experience)
