Qualifications

  • Engineering Apprenticeship and ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in a Maintenance Engineering role ideally within a warehouse or FMCG.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and functionality.

  • Perform fault finding and diagnosis on PLC controlled warehouse equipment.
  • Carry out PPM on pneumatic, hydraulics, conveyors, and robots.
  • Complete reactive repairs to minimize downtime.

Position: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: South Elmsall, West Yorkshire

Salary: £45,200 + £2,300 Shift Premium

TXM Recruit is partnering with one of the UK’s best-known retailers to hire skilled Maintenance Technicians for their site in South Elmsall in West Yorkshire. These roles involve maintaining state-of-the-art machinery to ensure seamless operations at the distribution facility.

Shift Pattern
  • Days and Night Shifts
  • Work Hours: Between 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fault finding and diagnosis on a range of PLC controlled warehouse equipment.
  • Carry out PPM on a range of pneumatic, hydraulics, conveyors, and robots.
  • Complete reactive repairs within set timeframes to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct servicing and repairs of installed products, taking hands‑on ownership of issues to achieve swift resolutions.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical skills.
  • Follow setup instructions, assembly guides, and checklists with precision.
  • Display exceptional attention to detail and follow‑up capabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with teams at all levels on site.
Skills and Qualifications Required
  • Engineering Apprenticeship and ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience working in a Maintenance Engineering role ideally within a warehouse, FMCG or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CMMS systems and managing engineering inventory.
  • Able to work at heights of up to 20m with appropriate training.
