Maintenance Engineer - Electrical bias - Derbyshire - Days

Join a maintenance team where no-one has left for seven years, other than for promotion! A Maintenance Engineer (multiskilled, electrical bias) is required for a multinational manufacturer at their global centre of excellence, a manufacturing facility that's undergoing significant capital investment and new product introduction. A rare opportunity has arisen due to internal promotion, to join the business as a Maintenance Engineer in a very progressive function (c. 85% proactive maintenance at present) supporting existing operations in both plant and facilities maintenance activities. Working on electrical and mechanical fault-finding, investigating root cause and implementing corrective actions, delivering PPMs, supporting on projects and ensuring contractors on site are working to the site and safety standards expected, this is a varied role offering a good level of autonomy and decision‑making responsibility, as part of a cohesive and collaborative team.

Key skills
  • Apprentice trained engineer with minimum level 3 Engineering qualification
  • Electrical bias, or multiskilled maintenance engineer
  • Notable experience in a maintenance engineering position in a manufacturing environment
  • PLC controls to fault‑finding level – Siemens S7 knowledge desirable
  • Experience in contractor management, permits to work, SSOW
  • A 'safety first' mentality and belief – any safety qualifications such as IOSH are helpful
  • PPM, TPM, RCA, SAP are all useful skills
  • Relevant technical knowledge also desirable – pneumatic systems, air rams, pressure sensors, solenoids, ATEX rated areas

This is a DAYS based role Mon -- Fri with flexibility on start and finish. There is occasional weekend work (one day only) and overtime available.

Excellent total package to include generous shift allowance (to cover the odd weekend day), bonus c. 8%, above average employer pension contribution and healthcare.

This is a site based role situated just north of Derby and is commutable from Derby, Nottingham and Leicester postcodes.
