You will be responsible for
  • Identifying opportunities to develop and improve equipment within your product groups, ensuring our stores are equipped with reliable, efficient, and future‑ready solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining world‑class standards that support the delivery of the annual Property business plan, helping us build better stores for our customers and colleagues.
  • Working cross‑functionally with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and consistent application of Group technical standards.
  • Understanding equipment performance and collaborating with colleagues to explore root causes of issues‑developing proposals that inform short, medium, and long‑term plans.
  • Driving continuous improvement by finding ways to deliver better, simpler, and more cost‑effective solutions across your product areas.
  • Building strong relationships with industry experts, colleagues, and stakeholders across Retail and Property‑energising and influencing others to deliver great results together.
  • Ensuring the correct application of technical standards for all electrical and lighting equipment, supporting safe and efficient store operations.
  • Bringing technical innovation and fresh ideas to keep Tesco at the forefront of engineering excellence.
  • Acting as the notified Electrical Duty Holder for Tesco Engineering, ensuring compliance and safety across all electrical systems.
You will need
  • Experience of project design and delivery, writing specifications in this sector.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and relevant legislation.
  • Understands Health & Safety and how to best approach specifications to deliver easy to maintain products.
  • Degree level, HNC or IET qualified
