Job summary

MDE Consultants Ltd, a leading UK renewable energy contractor, seeks an Electrical Installation Manager to lead field teams across England. You will drive installation quality, safety compliance, and project delivery while coordinating with design and project management colleagues.

Applicants should have strong leadership, at least 5 years in commercial/industrial electrical installations, and BS7671 knowledge. A van/car allowance and ongoing career progression are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
• Experience managing or supervising electrical installation teams.
• BS7671 knowledge and installation standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical Installation Engineers and Lead Engineers across multiple projects.
• Carry out technical inspections and QA checks.
• Ensure installations comply with standards and regulations.
• Mentor engineers and support their development.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers, Project Managers and Operations.
• Review installation plans and resolve technical issues.
• Manage materials, installation quality and progress.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
• Produce progress reports for stakeholders.
• Promote safety and quality culture on all projects.

Electrical Installation Manager

£55,000 to £60,000 + Company Van + Benefits

MDE are partnered with a leading UK renewable energy contractor who are looking to appoint an Electrical Installation Manager to support the continued growth of their commercial solar division.

This is a field based management role covering projects across England. You will be responsible for leading Electrical Installation Engineers, maintaining installation quality, driving health and safety standards and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Electrical, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing Electrical Installation Engineers and Lead Engineers across multiple projects.
• Carrying out technical inspections and QA checks.
• Ensuring electrical installations comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Mentoring engineers and supporting their development.
• Working closely with Design Engineers, Project Managers and the wider Operations team.
• Reviewing installation plans and resolving technical issues.
• Managing materials, installation quality and project progress.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Producing progress reports and communicating with key stakeholders.
• Driving a positive safety and quality culture across all projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
• Previous experience managing or supervising electrical installation teams.
• Commercial Solar PV experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of BS7671, QA and installation standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and engineers.

Desirable

• ECS Gold Card.
• SMSTS, SSSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent.
• Solar PV experience.
