Job summary

DTGen is seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer to lead the safe installation, testing, and modification of generator systems and LV electrical infrastructure across diverse sectors in the UK. The role focuses on delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while maintaining stringent safety standards.

You will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities, supervise engineers and subcontractors, and liaise with customers to provide expert technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 10 years' experience in industrial and commercial electrical installation environments.
• Extensive experience with generator systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems and control systems.
• Experience supervising site-based engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
• Understanding of DNO/IDNO requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation of generator systems from small standby units to multi-megawatt installations.
• Install LV distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, ATS panels, AMF systems and generator controls.
• Install containment systems and power/control cabling.
• Perform pre-installation site inspections and modifications to existing electrical infrastructure.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate delivery.
• Support commissioning of diesel and gas generator systems.
• Liaise with customers and site teams to deliver safe, compliant projects.
