Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer for a manufacturing site. You will install, modify, test, and commission electrical distribution systems, including connections to machinery and control panels, while ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and site standards.

Key requirements include City & Guilds 2391-52, 18th Edition (BS 7671), and NVQ3 in Electrical Installation or Engineering.

Qualifications

City & Guilds 2391-52 required.
Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and UK electrical regulations.
Time-served electrician or recognised electrical apprenticeship.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Engineering.
Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
Experience with control panels, PLC/automation preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, modify, design and commission electrical distribution systems including connections to machinery and control panels.
Carry out installation work in accordance with BS 7671 and site standards.
Carry out inspection and testing of new and existing electrical installations and RCD testing.
Ensure Fixed Wire Testing is up to date and records maintained.
Check, maintain and upgrade site lighting.
Terminate power, control, and instrumentation cabling to a high standard.
Perform basic inspection, testing, and verification of installed systems, supporting EICs where required.
Support machinery installations, upgrades, relocations, and plant shutdown activities.

Electrical Installation Engineer

The Opportunity:

As part of the Maintenance Team, the Installation Electrician is responsible for the safe Electrical installation, modification, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing environment, ensuring all work is documented with relevant test result. An Industrial Electrician with experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be required in this role.

The Role:

Install, modify, design and commission electrical distribution systems including connections to machinery, and control panels
Carry out installation work in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and site standards
Carry out inspection and testing of new and existing Electrical Installations and RCD Testing
Ensure Fixed Wire Testing is up to date and records maintained
Check, maintain and upgrade site Lighting
Terminate power, control, and instrumentation cabling to a high standard
Perform basic inspection, testing, and verification of installed systems, supporting Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) where required
Support machinery installations, upgrades, relocations, and plant shutdown activities

Preferred Skills and Essential Qualifications:
