Electrical / I&C Construction Supervisor - Hinkley Point C Site-Based Role | Power Generation Projects

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical / I&C Construction Supervisor to join a major site-based construction project. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to professionals with strong technical expertise in electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) works within large‑scale power or industrial projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager - Electrical, you will be responsible for the safe, high‑quality, and on‑time execution of all electrical and I&C erection activities through to turnover for commissioning. You will lead site teams and subcontractors, ensuring effective coordination, compliance, and performance across your discipline.

Key Responsibilities
Construction & Execution
  • Execute the electrical and I&C erection strategy in line with the overall construction plan.
  • Develop detailed discipline‑level schedules aligned with the master project schedule.
  • Ensure readiness of materials, tools, equipment, and site access prior to work execution.
  • Liaise closely with engineering teams to manage and clarify all construction documentation.
  • Supervise and manage subcontractors to deliver works safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other construction disciplines and site management.
  • Actively manage resources to optimize productivity and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve non‑conformances, deviations, claims, and cost variances in collaboration with site management.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, quality documentation, and as‑built drawings.
  • Prepare and manage turnover packages for commissioning.
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure punch list items are closed efficiently.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
  • Implement discipline‑specific EHS policies and site safety plans.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with all EHS requirements.
  • Review method statements, risk assessments, and conduct toolbox talks and safety walks.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and ensure proper protection and preservation of installed materials.
  • Monitor activities with potential environmental impact and take corrective action when required.
Leadership & Reporting
  • Lead, motivate, and assess supervisors and site technical staff.
  • Approve timesheets and maintain a detailed site logbook.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive construction progress reports.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assessments of direct reports.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Discipline works delivered in line with schedule and milestones.
  • Compliance with technical specifications and QA/QC standards.
  • Effective control and resolution of cost variances.
  • Achievement of EHS targets.
  • Timely and accurate reporting to support management decision‑making.
Authority & Accountability
  • Define and request resources required to deliver scope of works.
  • Review, accept, or reject discipline‑related documentation.
  • Suspend unsafe or non‑compliant work.
  • Issue binding instructions within the discipline scope.
  • Participate in disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
Candidate Profile
Education & Training (Mandatory)
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's level).
  • Formal training in power plant construction and engineering.
  • Leadership and management training.
Professional Experience (Mandatory)
  • Completion of at least two full‑cycle power plant construction projects.
  • Strong experience in site execution and subcontractor management.
  • Solid understanding of power plant systems and electrical/I&C disciplines.
  • Commercial and cost awareness.
