A leading manufacturer in the laboratory equipment sector is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join their team in Maidstone. The role involves installing, commissioning, and maintaining laboratory and medical equipment, ensuring excellent customer service across various healthcare and laboratory environments. Candidates should have relevant field service experience, an electrical qualification, and a background in HVAC or similar systems. The position offers a competitive salary up to £40,000, plus bonuses and allowances.

Qualifications

  • Previous field service and installation experience is essential.
  • An electrical qualification such as NVQ in Electrical/Mechanical engineering is required.

  • Install and repair fume cupboards and laminar flow cabinets.
  • Deliver high service standards to customers in healthcare and laboratories.
  • Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on laboratory equipment.

Job description
Electrical Field Service Engineer

Basic Salary: £38,000 to £40,000 (depending on experience)
On Target Earnings up to £50,000
Paid door-to-door
£30 per night overnight allowance + subsistence
Overtime

Responsibilities
  • Installing, commissioning, servicing and repairing fume cupboards and laminar flow cabinets
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent standards of service to new and existing customers, including laboratories, private hospitals, NHS healthcare facilities and pharmaceutical companies
  • Providing scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance and servicing on electro‑mechanical laboratory and medical equipment
Qualifications
  • Previous field service and installation experience
  • An electrical qualification – NVQ in Electrical / Mechanical engineering or equivalent, 16th / 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Background working on air conditioning, HVAC, paint spray booth, domestic appliance, vending, electrical service or air handling systems
  • Any experience of laminar air flow or fume cabinets would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Basic IT skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office (all reporting carried out on laptop)
