Are you an experienced electrical professional with a strong background in estimating and a proven track record within commercial and industrial projects?
We’re looking for a skilled Electrical Estimator / Contracts Manager to join our established client in Swindon, where you’ll play a key role in preparing tenders, securing contracts and supporting the successful delivery of M&E projects across the South West.
Electrical Estimator / Contracts Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review, prepare and submit electrical tenders, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Prepare and submit RFIs during the tender process, liaising with clients, consultants and design teams
- Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and specialist subcontractors
- Identify long-lead items and ensure these are considered within tender pricing
- Measure elements of work and produce itemised Bills of Quantities where required
- Finalise tender submissions and attend pre-order meetings
- Assist with securing contracts before handing over packages to the M&E Contracts Managers
- Liaise with clients regarding electrical project variations
- Ensure variations are accurately recorded and instructed where required
- Maintain accurate estimating records using company estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Work closely with the Mechanical Estimating team to produce combined M&E quotations
Electrical Estimator / Contracts Manager Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Estimator ideally within a commercial or industrial environment
- A strong understanding of electrical installations and project requirements
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience pricing tenders and obtaining subcontractor quotations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately to deadlines
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence
- CSCS – desirable
- DBS – desirable, although this can be applied for
