Electrical Estimator
The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Estimator to join a forward-thinking building services team. This role involves preparing detailed and accurate cost proposals for a wide range of electrical projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, industrial, and leisure. You'll be part of a supportive estimating department that delivers high-quality tenders for projects ranging from small refurbishments to multi-million-pound developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the pre-construction and bid teams to develop, prepare, and submit competitive tenders on time.
  • Produce clear, detailed estimates for both pre-designed and design-and-build schemes.
  • Suggest value-engineering solutions or alternative installation methods to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Review drawings and specifications, complete quantity take-offs, and input information into the company's estimating system.
  • Identify and communicate commercial or technical risks within tenders.
  • Participate in client and design meetings throughout the tender process and support a smooth handover to project management teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations and follow up with clients when required.
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
About You
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and solid experience estimating electrical works.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical systems, materials, and current industry practices.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients, consultants, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, including the use of estimating or cost-management software, as well as Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
