Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a hands-on estimator with electrical estimating experience and Trimble knowledge to drive tender opportunities near Cambridge. The role involves maintaining databases, preparing estimates, and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to optimise costs.

You will also develop client relationships, review enquiry documents, and contribute to value engineering on tenders while communicating effectively with customers throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical estimating and Trimble software.
• Business development/client generation experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise one team member.
• Carry out value engineering on project tenders.
• Carry out customer visits.

Job description

In this varied role, you'll be doing:

• Identifying new opportunities to grow the business and generating new tender enquiries
• Maintain the customer and sub-contractor database
• Review initial enquiry documentation
• Provide estimation documents and prepare estimate filing both electronically and in paper form
• Send out, track and receive specialist subcontract package enquiries
• Production of detailed quotations considering material and labour resource
• Negotiate costs, discount structures and purchasing quotations with suppliers & sub-contractors prior to tender stage
• Recording all new enquiries in the database
• Customer communication throughout the tender process
• Supervising one member of the team
• Carry out Value Engineering on project tenders
• Customer visits

You must have electrical estimating experience along with experience using Trimble. In addition, business development/client generation experience would be ideal.

You'll be confident using your initiative and working in an organised and efficient way, along with good communication and negotiation skills. You'll also need good IT skills particularly with Microsoft Excel.
