Octavius Infrastructure Limited is offering an Electrical Engineering Year in Industry Placement in RH2 9PY. Start date September 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems on real infrastructure projects.

The role includes mentoring, development of electrical methodologies, and a mix of site and office-based activities. Travel with project teams is expected; flexibility and a proactive approach are valued.

What you'll do

• Support project teams with the safe and efficient installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.


• Assist with the development and implementation of electrical methodologies.


• Gain practical experience through a combination of site and office-based activities.


• Work alongside Site Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers and Engineering Managers.


• Build positive relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and other project stakeholders.


• Bring fresh ideas, energy and an inquisitive approach to our projects.


• Develop your understanding of safety, quality and the delivery of electrical engineering solutions.


• Take part in activities that promote careers within construction and engineering to local communities.

What we're looking for

• Currently studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with a placement year included as part of your course.


• Interested in developing a career within infrastructure, construction or engineering.


• Proactive, adaptable and keen to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting.


• A confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with others.


• Inquisitive and motivated to take on new challenges and opportunities.

• Willing to travel and stay away from home when required to support our projects.


• Ideally, the holder of a full UK driving licence due to the site-based nature of the placement.
