Job summary

Stantec in Scotland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will support delivery of electrical and EICA designs across water infrastructure projects from concept through to construction, developing your technical expertise.

Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will produce calculations and diagrams, contribute to specifications, participate in design reviews and site visits, and pursue professional development toward chartered status.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Experience in electrical engineering design within water, infrastructure, utilities or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical and EICA design from feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
• Produce electrical calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams and Network Infrastructure Diagrams.
• Support development of technical specifications, control philosophies and equipment schedules.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in design reviews, technical workshops and site visits.
• Continue to develop technical knowledge through mentoring and structured career development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of electrical and EICA designs across a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure projects.

• Assisting with electrical and EICA design from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
• Producing electrical calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams and Network Infrastructure Diagrams.
• Supporting the development of technical specifications, control philosophies and equipment schedules.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical engineering design within water, infrastructure, utilities or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
• A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Desirable

• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
• Experience with EICA design and documentation.
• Knowledge of DSEAR requirements.
• Experience within the UK water sector.
