Job summary

Exponent is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Scientist for its Electrical Engineering Practice in the London area. You will join a multidisciplinary team applying data-driven methods and experimental techniques to solve complex electrical, electronics, and power challenges.

The role is in-person in the London–Cambridge area with potential future Cambridge lab; strong laboratory skills and a PhD are preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Applied Physics.
• Hands-on engineering with lab methods, instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communications and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical/electronic/power/optical engineering analyses for ongoing Exponent work.
• Conduct reliability and failure analyses on electrical systems and components.
• Develop test protocols and apply standards for testing electronic devices.
• Investigate electrocution/electric shock hazards related to electrical devices and installations.
• Develop new software tools and improve existing software.
• Prepare technical proposals, supervise laboratory testing, and write reports.
