Overview
Expleo has an opportunity for an experienced aerospace Electrical Systems Installation Engineer to support our customer (Airbus) working on a hybrid basis (remote and onsite at customer premises). The role involves formulating technical solutions for a range of tasks, ensuring design standards and customer requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Produce harness routing models using Catia.
- Design support for 3D models related to ESI installation (e.g., brackets).
- Coordinate meetings between project stakeholders and follow up on actions.
- Report progress in project meetings.
- Conduct conceptual design activities, manage basic requirements, develop Design Principles, and establish Electromechanical Interfaces.
- Provide engineering support to stakeholders to ensure data completeness.
- Adhere to company and departmental procedures and standards.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Collaborate within a team in a highly cooperative environment.
- Ensure data continuity from functional electric design through harness pre-definition to detailed 3D design.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Catia V5 with Electrical Work Bench (EWB) experience.
- Knowledge of Catia V6/3DExperience (training provided).
- Understanding of Airbus operations and procedures.
- Experience with aerospace electrical systems installation (diagrams, harnesses, electrical boxes, electromechanical installations).
- Ability to generate and handle electrical harness installation data and drawings.
- Basic knowledge of general 3D modeling (e.g., brackets design).
- Located near Airbus, Bristol, or able to attend the office at least 2 days a week.
- Basic understanding of Configuration Management and aircraft build processes.
- Knowledge of electronic and electrical components, connectors, retention devices, and mechanical components.
Experience
- Knowledge of Airbus electrical design rules and routings (e.g., TDD92/SIDP92, AIPS).
- Experience with PDM/VPM tools linked to CAD models.
- Understanding of the Electrical End-to-End process in aerospace.
- Experience with harness pre-definition and topology/morphology is desirable.
