Location: Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre

Contract Type: Full-Time

Standby Rota 1 week in 4: £175 when on call

40-hour week

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to undertake facilities management services across our site. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape service excellence, drive operational performance, and make a real difference every day.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensure standards are maintained and liaise with other Mitie engineers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain proactive client liaison, ensuring concerns are addressed or relayed to management as necessary.
  • Comply with and enforce existing business risk management procedures for maintenance and project works.
  • Complete all work‑related documentation accurately and on time.
What We're Looking For
  • Substantial practical experience with comprehensive knowledge of all building services disciplines, LV systems and networks, standby generator and environmental.
  • Team worker with flexibility within contracted hours, strong team player, ‘can do’ attitude and intuitive proactive nature.
  • Detail‑oriented professional committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed correctly for all tasks and reactive tasks are reported to the CAFM system.
  • Participation in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal working hours.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Electrical Installation Apprenticeship (Level 3)
  • Experience in a technical estates or facilities management environments, including L.V networks & stand‑by generators
  • Good IT skills with the ability to produce reports from multiple sources/systems.
Specific Requirements
  • Must be British, EU with settled status, or have ILR from a Commonwealth country.
  • Bankruptcy history, CCJs, social media activity and criminal convictions will be checked as part of the vetting process.
  • Must have lived in the UK for the past three years with no significant footprint outside the UK other than for normal holidays.
