Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

Stantec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Building Services team in London or Reading.

Our project portfolio is expanding rapidly, and we are looking for experienced professionals to help us achieve our growth goals.

Joining an established team of engineers, this is a unique opportunity to work in a truly integrated environment that is structured to respond to the future demands of the construction industry. Our engineering teams use BIM and the latest industry technology to deliver building solutions. You will join a team passionate about creating sustainable and resilient buildings.

You will be an integral part of leading a project team to deliver multidisciplinary building services and environmental design projects. You will support and oversee projects with clients, develop a detailed brief, produce reports for mechanical building services requirements, create outline, scheme, and detailed design reports including drawings and specifications, and integrate sustainability and carbon emission reduction strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise an expanding team, allocating workload, checking and reviewing outputs, evaluating progress against time and budget constraints, and providing mentorship to junior staff and aiding in career development.
  • Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary building services and environmental design projects, ensuring integration of sustainability and carbon reduction strategies.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered with a relevant institution such as IET or CIBSE.
  • Proven track record in an M&E team, ideally within a design engineering consultancy.
  • Strong background in design of electrical engineering services, including systems and equipment design, calculations, drawing production.
  • Experience and skill in using design tools such as Revit and IES.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the built environment design influences, legislative environment, carbon emissions reduction, and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with Technical Standards, planning policies, and relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
