Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a contract role lasting a minimum of 6 months. You will be responsible for producing specifications, defining electrical system interfaces, and performing detailed design in CAD/CAM. The ideal candidate has proven mastery in electronics and holds a relevant degree, preferably with Chartered Engineer status. Excellent communication skills and collaboration across disciplines are essential.

Carbon60 are currently looking for a Electrical Engineer to join a client of ours based in Portsmouth. Our client is pronoun for the aviation, space, and defence sectors. This position is a contract role lasting a minimum of 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Producing specifications from product or architecture requirements
  • Defining interfaces of the electrical systems
  • Creating system diagrams and/or circuit diagrams
  • Considering and designing to electrical safety guidelines
  • Performing detailed design in CAD/CAM implementation on component/equipment/mechanical level in accordance with engineering design rules
  • Defining test strategy and validating design
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to master the area of electronics and electromagnetic, including requirements capture and validation, design, simulation, integration, verification, certification, and support activities
  • Knowledge of test and measurement techniques, as well as the latest electrical or electronic design methods and tools
  • Ability to provide detailed data and information about system elements to enable implementation consistent with architectural entities
  • Ability to verify the compliance of a detailed design solution toward baseline of validated requirements
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with various disciplines throughout the product lifecycle
  • Educated to at least Degree Level or equivalent in a recognised engineering discipline, preferably with Chartered Engineer status and membership in the IET or other equivalent body
