A leading defence engineering company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a contract role based in Portsmouth. This hybrid position involves working on advanced satellite communications and naval antenna systems. Key responsibilities include producing electrical specifications, designing systems, and validating electrical designs. Candidates must have a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and expertise in electronics and electromagnetics. Compensation is £45 per hour via Umbrella, with a strong potential for contract extension.
Our client is a major global player in advanced engineering, delivering high-technology solutions across defence, aerospace, maritime, and secure communications. You will join a specialist engineering team responsible for the design, development, and sustainment of satellite communication terminal products used across land, sea, and air platforms. Due to ongoing programme demand and expansion within their engineering capability, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support critical maritime antenna programmes.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for producing electrical specifications, defining system interfaces, generating circuit and system diagrams, and ensuring all electrical design meets safety, performance, and compliance requirements. You will validate electrical designs, define test strategies, and work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and product lifecycle teams to deliver mission-critical satellite communication systems—primarily in the maritime domain.
