Our Approach.**The Electrical Engineer is a task based role within Fortna’s Electrical Engineering team, responsible for the design and documentation of electrical and pneumatic controls of Fortna’s Material Handling Systems (MHS). The ideal candidate has a background in Electrical Engineering / design and is experienced and/or capable of providing leadership to the Electrical Engineering project team and producing quality deliverables during project implementation. Leadership tasks shall be aligned with Fortna’s Integrated Design Methodology to ensure successful project implementation. Design tasks shall use standard design tools to provide high quality electrical designs in support of Clients’ MHS Needs.Responsibilities* Leading medium scope and less complex projects through the detail design and implementation phase. This includes development of RFP/Supplier Selection requirements, electrical control panel phasing plans, Electrical Engineering work plans, and design approval packages.* Providing electrical system input to Project Engineer during design review meetings to ensure electrical requirements are understood.* Supporting Project Engineer during transition from Detailed Design to Final Engineering.* Reviewing and providing Electrical Engineering input to Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification (FSD) documentation.* Facilitating project meetings as required by project cadence: + Producing meeting agendas + Providing meeting minutes to team members* Providing Electrical Engineering input to MHS implementation plan.* Developing Electrical Engineering work plan to ensure successful project milestone achievements.* Assisting Project Engineer during Speeds & Feeds review.* Leading Controls Layout review meetings with internal teams and Client.
