Job description

The Role

We are seeking a technically skilled and safety-focused Solar O\&M Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality operations and maintenance services across client-owned solar PV assets. Reporting to the O\&M Manager, you will help ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with UK industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance on commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.

Perform detailed inspections of modules, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical components.

Carry out AC / DC testing, thermographic surveys, torque checks, and system verification.

Produce clear, comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Reports with technical logs and recommendations.

Fault Diagnosis & Repair

Identify, diagnose, and resolve faults across AC / DC systems, inverters, and optimisers.

Implement corrective actions and maintain thorough documentation aligned with client and company procedures.

Performance Monitoring

Use monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarEdge, Hark) to assess asset performance.

Analyse data including PR, yield, and system availability against benchmarks and historical trends.
