AUAR is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to own electrical build on our robotic MicroFactories. You will work alongside our Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer, designing, building, testing and documenting electrical systems that deploy on construction sites, with a strong emphasis on repeatability and safety.
The role requires end-to-end ownership from panel wiring to field fault-finding, and offers a path from build into design within a fast-growing robotics company based in London.
London, E17 | On-site
We're automating homebuilding. Construction is one of the least automated industries in the world, and homes are still built largely by hand, in slow, expensive and fragmented processes. AUAR is a physical AI and robotics company changing that.
Our software platform, MasterBuilder, turns a building design into the instructions needed to manufacture a home’s timber structure. Our robotic MicroFactory then deploys directly onto a homebuilder’s site and produces the wall, floor and roof panels they need, on demand. It arrives in a shipping container, sits on a footprint of max 30 by 30 ft and runs off generators on a gravel pad: no grid connection, no permanent site works. We own and run the equipment, our customers buy the panels it produces, not the machine.
We're past pure R&D and shipping our first commercial MicroFactories this year, across the UK, Europe and North America. Backed by Planet A, PT1, Shadow Ventures and ABB Robotics, we're a team of around 40 engineers, roboticists, operators and designers working from an 11,000 sq ft R&D and demonstration facility in London. The systems we build now will decide how homes are manufactured at scale.
We're looking for an electrical engineer to take ownership of day-to-day electrical build on our robotic MicroFactory.
Every MicroFactory brings industrial robots, PLC-controlled mechanisms, sensors, drives and safety systems together in a machine that leaves our workshop and runs off generators on site. The hard part isn't wiring one machine. It's building every machine to the same standard, documenting it properly, and being able to fault-find it in the field.
Working alongside our Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer, you'll design, build, test and validate the systems that make the MicroFactory run. You'll take ownership of day-to-day electrical build, own design packages, support deployments, and make sure the work is done properly, safely and to standard.
This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You'll work directly on machines that ship to real construction sites, and help shape how we build, test and document them as we scale production.
You're an electrical engineer who has built, wired and commissioned real automated machinery, and wants to apply that to robotics hardware that ends up on construction sites. You take pride in clean, safe, well-documented electrical work.
You're at home in the workshop and on site, you own your work end to end, and you ask questions rather than wait to be told. You want your role to grow from build into design.
This isn't for you if you want every task handed to you fully specified, if you'd rather design from a desk than get hands-on with a panel, or if your experience is installation only, without the testing, fault-finding and documentation side.
We expect the full hiring process to take around 4-5 weeks, and we aim to be as transparent as possible throughout.
We are committed to creating an equitable, inclusive and diverse workplace. We intend to run an equal, fair and inclusive hiring process. If you feel there is any area we could improve, please let us know at info@auar.io.
