Electrical Engineer

Orion is working with a market leader seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring the company consistently exceeds client expectations through your technical expertise, project management skills, and collaborative approach.

The company specialises in providing control and automation solutions for industrial and commercial applications. They focus on designing, installing, and maintaining systems for building automation, process control, and energy management to improve efficiency and operational performance.

Role and Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer
  • Carry out or oversee hardware design, panel building, installation, and commissioning of: Industrial control systems, Instrumentation and Electrical systems up to 415V AC.
  • Assist in writing technical manuals, including Functional Design Specifications and Hardware Design Documents.
  • Produce comprehensive electrical design documents: device & instrument schedules, data sheets, single line diagrams, cable routing, control/panel schematics, general arrangements, and more.
  • Manage multi-skill projects, including standalone controllers and multi-controller systems, with support from senior engineers as needed.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are met during project execution.
  • Supervise contract services such as drawing offices, panel builders, and installation teams.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within industrial automation or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS 6761, BS EN 60204, etc.)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, SISTEMA, or similar tools.
  • Ability to supervise electrical installations and commissioning activities.
