Job Description

Are you an electrical engineer looking to work on built environment and infrastructure projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

We are looking for enthusiastic and suitably experienced Electrical Engineers. Being project focused is an essential attribute and you will be able to demonstrate solid experience of working within a design team and have a good working knowledge of building services installations. Working as part of a team you will be expected to manage your own work, and independently progress designs to the required standards.

If so, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in either Exeter or Plymouth (we operate as one team across two locations) to work on a range of MEP and multidisciplinary projects. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for engineering and delivering Client solutions.

Job Responsibilities: At AECOM we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company, for this role we believe your starting point is:
  • To take a key role representing AECOM on MEP projects leading your own discipline and also managing engineers of a complementary discipline
  • Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
  • Complete detailed designs and support the work of others in this function.
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.
  • Have an ability to inspire confidence in team members and then use this to strengthen team and client relationships.
  • To mentor and assist with the development of junior engineers
  • Manage you own time on projects to suit deadlines and complete their assigned tasks
  • To have a strong interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools. We seek engineers that fit with our culture and have experience working digitally.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Available to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
  • Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion.

Qualifications
  • Being a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline
  • Having a CIBSE/IET/IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or a HNC in a applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education.
  • To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status
