Job summary

Albion Water Treatment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer to install, inspect and maintain electrical systems on water treatment equipment and plant at client sites across the UK.

You will diagnose faults, commission systems, and work with service engineers to ensure safe, compliant operations. The role involves 37.5 hours per week with travel across London, the Home Counties, and beyond, supporting water hygiene and Legionella controls where relevant.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer in industrial/building services/manufacturing/utilities or water environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Strong health and safety awareness in site-based engineering environments.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on electrical systems associated with water treatment equipment and plant.
  • Support pumps, dosing systems, control panels, motors, monitoring equipment and building services infrastructure.
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance and reactive engineering support across client sites.
  • Support remedial works, upgrades, refurbishments and improvement projects relating to electrical and water treatment systems.
  • Identify faults, assess technical issues, and recommend practical and compliant solutions.
  • Assist with commissioning and system testing following installation or modification works.
  • Work closely with service engineers, risk assessors and management to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate service records, technical reports and site documentation.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements, site procedures and relevant technical standards.
  • Support compliance with water hygiene, Legionella control, and related operational requirements where these interface with electrical systems.
  • Travel to client sites as required across London, the Home Counties, the Midlands, and other UK locations depending on business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and performance of pumps, dosing systems, control panels, motors, monitoring equipment, and associated building services infrastructure.

  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance and reactive engineering support across client sites.

Essential Requirements


  • Relevant experience working as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in industrial, building services, facilities, manufacturing, utilities, or water-related environments.

  • Good understanding of electrical systems, control panels, motors, pumps, dosing equipment, and site-based plant.

  • Experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and installation work.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operational documentation.

  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in site-based engineering environments.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


Desirable Requirements


  • Experience within water treatment, Legionella compliance, building services, or process/manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of control systems and monitoring equipment used in water treatment applications.

  • Experience working in regulated sectors such as healthcare, food manufacturing, or critical infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance systems and service reporting.

  • Experience supporting technical projects, plant upgrades, or compliance-led remedial works.

  • Electrical qualifications or engineering training relevant to the role.

  • Knowledge of safe systems of work including confined space awareness, working at height, or other site safety practices.

  • Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to sites as required
