Qualifications

  • Significant demonstrable experience in lieu of degree qualifications is acceptable.
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in a multi-disciplined design/manufacturing environment.
  • Awareness of Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical/electronic manufacture and testing.
  • Use tools for Schematics & PCB Layouts.
  • Complete documentation in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in areas of activity.

Job description
Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an Electrical/Electronics Test Technician/Engineer to work with our client, onsite (4 days minimum onsite) at Barnstaple working on marine electronics. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working on marine electronics with an appreciation of some of the challenges products face in this environment.

We are looking for an energetic and driven individual, of particular interest would be candidates with military, aerospace or experience.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following activities:

  • Hands on work around electrical/electronic manufacture and testing
  • Use of tools for looking at Schematics & PCB Layouts
  • Perform surveys on items returned from service and report findings
  • Testing following company documentation
  • Develop/Interpret test specifications
  • Perform self-directed investigative testing work
  • Adhere to control processes to achieve a conforming product
  • Complete documentation in accordance with quality & contractual requirements ensuring materials, tooling & product traceability
  • Reporting of non-conformance on MRP system
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards in areas of activity
  • Ensure working area is clean, tidy and free of FOD at all times
  • Adhere to Health and Safety framework.
Qualifications
  • Degree/HND/HNC level qualification in a relevant discipline. A lower qualification would be acceptable for example ONC/OND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
Essential skills
  • Computer literate with Microsoft office skills (minimum MS Word, Excel & Outlook & Internet).
  • Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of hand tools, both for mechanical and electrical operations.
  • Soldering, crimping, looming, electromechanical assembly.
  • Understands the principals and need for production control documentation and traceability.
  • Has a drive and an ability for continuous improvement through process development.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to think creatively and modify the approach to suit the problem set presented
  • Methodical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess good organisation skills.
  • Ability to work proactivity within a team. Problem solve when required, and liaise with other Engineering functions to resolve problems.
Experience
  • Familiarity with Family Tree/Bill of Materials (BoM) & Assembly Drawings
  • Has worked in a multi-disciplined design/manufacturing environment for at least 3 years.
  • Aware and compliant with Environmental, Health & Safety requirements
