Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks an Electrical Due Diligence Project Lead to drive due diligence and feasibility for data centre sites across EMEA from our London office. You will oversee electrical connection assessments, design considerations, and strategic grid-connection input while leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing project plans.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering, with progress toward CEng, and strong communication with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field required.
• Be working towards or willing to work towards a CEng.
• Knowledge of Electrical Industrial connection agreements to provide strategic advice on connections and TSO DSO risks.
• Excellent project management including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Understanding of electrical codes/regulations impacting Data Centres.
• LV/HV power distribution design and load calculations.
• Knowledge of earthing/grounding systems; UPS/generators/renewable integration advantageous.
• Ability to interpret technical reports and translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication with clients and regulators.
• Experience in Data Centre design or large industrial warehouse projects.

We now seek an Electrical Due Diligence Project Lead to be based out of our London office.

Role Responsibilities

Due Diligence & Feasibility

• Lead due diligence projects for potential data centre sites across EMEA.

Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc) in:

• Electrical Engineering
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Power Engineering (or similar)
• Be working towards or willing to work towards a CEng
• Knowledge of Electrical Industrial connection agreements to be able to provide strategic advice to clients on connection agreements and TSO DSO risks..
• Excellent project management skills (budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation).
• Understanding of Electrical codes and regulations that may impact a Data Centre.
• LV and HV power distribution design
• Load calculations
• Knowledge of Earthing / grounding systems
• UPS, generators, and renewable integration (is an advantage)
• Ability to interpret technical reports and translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Familiarity with data centre development processes and infrastructure planning is a plus.
• Experience in leading electrical design on complex projects
• Responsibility for technical decision-making
• Coordination with: Mechanical, civil, and control disciplines; and Clients, contractors, and regulators
• Experience in Data Centre Design is preferred or large Industrial warehouse design
• Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the ethics charter and ethics in practice guidelines
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
