We are seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead high‑impact projects, shape technical solutions, and guide a team of engineers delivering complex systems into regulated environments.

EC&I Engineer – The Role

Translate high‑level design inputs into practical, safe, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.

Lead and manage a team of EC&I engineers and designers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Design Responsibilities
  • Schematics, GA drawings, cable schedules, FDS, software documentation, test plans, etc.
  • Interface coordination with other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and/or lead HAZOPs, design reviews, and safety assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, relevant design standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Identify and specify third‑party equipment, liaising with procurement and supply chain.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, test, and commissioning teams to ensure delivery excellence.
EC&I Engineer – The Person
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards (IET preferred).
  • Extensive experience in electrical/control engineering in highly regulated industries – nuclear experience is beneficial.
  • Demonstrable leadership in managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards – knowledge of IEC 61508 is a plus.
  • Methodical and detail‑driven, with a passion for producing safe and fit‑for‑purpose designs.
