Job summary

TechMet Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with Switchgear experience to join its team in the Dungannon area, Northern Ireland.

The role focuses on LV switchgear design and manufacturing, working with modular steel systems and major LV products from Schneider and ABB. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum HND in Electrical Engineering or have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant design experience, and be proficient with SolidWorks Electrical/IGE/XAO and

Qualifications

• Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering or time served in electrical apprenticeship with design experience.
• Knowledge of Modular Steel Work Systems such as Cubic and Elsteel.
• Familiar with Schneider and ABB LV products.
• LV design and manufacture of switchgear up to 6300 A.
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical or IGE/XAO.
• Experience with IEC/UL product standards is advantageous.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software.

Job description

Our client, specialists in the design and manufacture of Electrical Switchgear & Automated Control Systems, are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with Switchgear experience, to join their team based in the Dungannon area.

The company works with market leaders within the electrical switchgear and control equipment sector, offering high quality, cost competitive products, providing a one-stop-shop solutions for customers.

The Person:

• A minimum of a HND in Electrical Engineering, or Time served in Panel Building/Electrical Apprenticeship with relevant design experience
• Knowledge of Modular Steel Work Systems such as Cubic, Elsteel etc
• Knowledge of Schneider and ABB range of LV Products
• Confident with LV design and manufacture of Switchgear up to 6300 Amps
• Experience of SolidWorks electrical or similar electrical design software (IGE/XAO)
• Experience of switchgear design to IEC/UL product standards - advantageous
• 2D and 3D software experience

The Benefits:

• Very attractive salary package on offer, dependent upon experience
• Hours: Mon-Thurs 7.30am to 5.00pm, finishing 2.00pm on a Friday. Flexibility around start time can be agreed with slightly longer working on a Friday if desired.
