Electrical Design Engineer – Manchester – GBP60,000 + Overtime

A Manufacturer who designs and develops high value special purpose machinery for the automotive industry is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Manchester.

They're seeking an individual who is looking to join the business and progress in their role, leading into a position of leadership.

You will be working with machines including Valve Seat and Guide insertion, Cam Cap assembly, Full engine Cold test and Leak test machines. Battery Cycler assembly & test machines, Electric Drive Unit assembly and End of Line test machines, Hi–Pot test machines, Stator test machines and Helium Leak test machines.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Use of the EPlan (training will be given on EPlan) and AutoCAD. Create, new and update and modify existing designs
• Obtaining quotes and communicating with suppliers on technical issues
• Liaising with various departments within the company
• Answering queries during manufacture, build and installation
• Preparing and maintaining documentation and records to a Quality Operating System'
• Preparing and maintaining PowerPoint documents for customer approval presentations
• Preparing and maintaining Excel documents for internal recording of items such as Drawing updates, issue decks, supplier specifications etc.
• Generating and evaluating Risk Assessments
• Generating Systema / siemens SET tool safety documents for customer approval
• Preparing Visio diagrams for sales proposals and customer presentations

Skills and Experience Required:

• HNC or BEng in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience
• Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or under their own initiative

The Salary on offer is up to GBP60,000 with a lot of overtime available, plus 25–day hols + 6% pension scheme and hybrid working.
