Our client, an established engineering consultancy, are on the lookout for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their well-established team, in a permanent role. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to attend the Basingstoke office on a hybrid basis to work on a variety of railway projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design and delivery stages within complex Rail projects, from concept through to design, with a focus on electrical system elements.
  • Create in-depth drawings and specifications using relevant software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, whilst working with other professionals to ensure smooth system integration.
  • Oversee extensive electrical calculations, lighting design and distribution drawings, ensuring alignment with current regulations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, allowing for installation reviews, troubleshooting and quality assurance.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and implement them into projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience with producing design for electrical building services systems, for a multitude of projects, with a focus on Rail systems.
  • Strong understanding of software tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and other design platforms, including, Amtech, Dialux or Relux.
  • Proficient understanding of lighting, life safety systems, LV systems, and fire alarms.
  • Profound communication and collaborative skills, with a detail-orientated and proactive mindset.
