Job summary

Our Ipswich-based engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design bespoke generator control systems and associated equipment from concept to manufacture. You will work within a multidisciplinary team on projects ranging from simple control panels to complex switchboards used in industrial, marine, and power generation sectors.

You will interpret customer specifications, produce accurate electrical designs, and collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to

Qualifications

Proven experience designing electrical control systems for generator projects.
Ability to interpret customer specifications and produce accurate electrical designs.
Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Design electrical control systems for diesel generator applications.
Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
Design generator control panels, switchboards and synchronising/paralleling systems.
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly and test teams on projects.
Provide technical support during design, build and commissioning.
Ensure designs comply with customer specifications and industry standards.
Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
