Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the MEP (Building Services) team in the Southwest. The Plymouth office will be home base for delivering cutting‑edge electrical solutions across the UK, collaborating with architects and engineers on diverse projects.

You will lead technical delivery, produce high-quality design deliverables, support project commercials, and mentor junior staff, including graduates and apprentices, fostering career growth.

Similarly, the Atlantic Village extension in Bideford showcases our ability to deliver large-scale retail and mixed-use developments, increasing the shopping centre’s size by 70 percent.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be joining a highly motivated and collaborative team of engineers who are passionate about delivering sustainable, innovative solutions and who genuinely enjoy what they do.

You will lead the day-to-day technical delivery of electrical design services on multi-disciplinary building projects. You will oversee the production of high-quality design deliverables, including specifications, drawings, and schedules.

You will support the commercial success of your projects through timely invoicing, WIP management, and workload/resource planning. You will mentor junior team members, including graduates and apprentices, and play a key role in their career development.

About You:

You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for delivering sustainable solutions for your clients and will have the following:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in the UK, ideally with a track record of delivering both electrical and M&E solutions across varied building sectors.

• Familiarity with BIM processes and tools including Revit.

• A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

• A relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Bachelors or Masters) in Electrical Engineering or building services.

• Chartered status or working towards it.
