Job summary

London Fire Security is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, analyse specifications, and contribute to the bidding process to support project success.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in estimation within construction or engineering, experience with electrical/fire/security sectors, and a solid grasp of cost control principles. Proficiency with estimation software and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
  • 1+ years proven experience within electrical, fire or security.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Review and assess subcontractor quotes and proposals to ensure alignment with project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of past project costs for reference in future estimations.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid documents and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing projects for adherence to estimated costs and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
  • Communicate with suppliers in order to establish the best prices available.
  • Strong communication and team working skills to enable quick decisions to be made within the Design team.
