Job summary

Manufacturing Futures is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a supportive team in automation, electrical design, and control systems. This role suits a graduate or early-career engineer aiming for a long-term career in industrial automation.

You will design control systems, produce schematics with CAD, support PLC/HMI programming, create BOMs, and work under guidance from senior engineers while developing technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Experience or exposure to PLCs and control systems.
• Proficient with electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar.
• Previous experience in an Electrical Design Engineer or automation-related role.
• Willingness to learn and develop within electrical and automation engineering; UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and electronic control systems for automated machinery
• Produce electrical schematics and system drawings using CAD software
• Support PLC, HMI and automation programming activities
• Create BOMs and supporting technical documentation
• Work on assigned projects with guidance from a senior engineer or mentor

This role is well suited to an Electrical or Electronic Engineering graduate, or an early-career Electrical Design Engineer, looking to develop a long-term career within industrial automation and control systems.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will join a supportive and technically strong team with an excellent reputation for training and development. The successful Electrical Design Engineer will work on a range of standard and bespoke automated systems, gaining exposure to electrical design, control systems and project delivery under the guidance of experienced engineers.
