Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer and an Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of our client, one of the UK's leading renewable energy contractors. This role offers the opportunity, where applicable, to lead your own projects and work across industrial, commercial, and public sector developments, from concept and pre‑construction through to detailed design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical design for building services, switch rooms, substations, cabling, lighting, and containment systems.
• Lead and support junior engineers, reviewing work and ensuring project deliverables are met.
• Develop concept and detailed designs for pre‑construction and tender stages.
• Review third‑party drawings and specifications; contribute to investment‑grade proposals.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and stakeholders to ensure compliant, cost‑effective solutions.
• Attend technical meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Ensure all designs and calculations meet industry and legal standards.
• Identify and manage design issues, mitigating impact on project delivery.

Skills & Experience

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years' experience in consultancy or contractor roles.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with Trimble ProDesign (Amtech) and MS Office.
• HV design experience is advantageous.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and CDM compliance.
