Job summary

A UK-based recruitment agency is looking for an Electrician/Electrical Controls Engineer to handle electrical assembly, installation, testing, and fault finding for various projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical control panels and a 3-year engineering apprenticeship in electrical or control engineering. Responsibilities include overseeing training, assisting with design projects, and maintaining records. Candidates should possess strong communication and organisational skills, a full clean driving licence, and be prepared for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to locate breakdown causes.
  • Oversee training of co-workers on electrical installations and repairs.
  • Assist in designing control circuits for machinery and creating panel layouts.
  • Maintain records and prepare electrical reports and test certificates.

Skills

Understanding of assembly, test, fault finding and rectification of electromechanical components
Proven track record of managing time and strict deadlines
Good communication and organisational skills
Intermediate ICT skills (MS Office, Emails)
Effective communication (written and verbal)

18th Edition BS7671 IET Wiring Regs
Experience with Electrical Control Panels
