The role

As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of supporting EDF’s nuclear operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of fuel route works. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical expertise will directly contribute to the UK’s energy security and sustainability.

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Apply high standards to fuel route work preparation and execution
  • Provide technical fault finding, reporting and operational oversight
  • Advise stakeholders including Senior Leadership, Operations and Engineering teams
  • Prepare and execute fuel route work in line with safety policies
  • Ensure compliance with site licence requirements and statutory regulations

This is a full-time, onsite role based at Torness Power Station near Dunbar, East Lothian, working 37 hours per week.

Essential experience of the EC&I Engineer
  • Working with industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, drives, analogue systems)
  • Delivering engineered solutions using electrical control equipment and instrumentation
  • Fault finding and resolving engineering issues in a safe and effective manner
  • Experience in nuclear or other regulated industries (e.g. petrochemical, pharmaceutical)
  • Understanding of legislation, ACOP, Safe Systems of Work and industry standards
Qualifications for the EC&I Engineer
  • HNC / HND in relevant engineering discipline
