About the Opportunity

Clements Young are recruiting on behalf of a growing electrical contractor based in Bedfordshire. Established in 2019 and now operating at around £1.2m turnover, the company has built a strong reputation for quality delivery across commercial fit‑out, maintenance, and new‑build housing projects.

This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced Electrical Contracts & Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the company’s next stage of growth — working directly alongside the owner to shape operations, manage delivery, and drive expansion across the region.

With a small but capable office team of four, this role offers a rare blend of hands‑on project involvement and strategic influence, perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy and accountability within a supportive, close‑knit environment.

The Role

You’ll lead the operational and project delivery side of the business — overseeing multiple electrical projects from planning through to completion. You’ll coordinate labour, manage subcontractors, ensure compliance, and uphold the company’s reputation for high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full ownership of multiple commercial, industrial, and new‑build electrical projects
  • Manage programmes, labour, budgets, and materials to ensure profitable outcomes
  • Oversee procurement and subcontractor management
  • Maintain excellent H&S, compliance, and quality control
  • Allocate labour and support engineers and apprentices across projects
  • Improve internal systems, reporting, and communication between office and site
  • Support estimating and tendering activityLead client relationships and encourage repeat business
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
About You
  • Qualified electrician with a proven background in project and operations management
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills — comfortable managing several live jobs
  • Commercially aware with sound understanding of costs, variations, and margins
  • Confident communicator with a hands‑on, practical approach
  • Enjoys responsibility and helping shape a growing business
Qualifications & Experience
  • JIB Gold or Black Card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • 2391 (or equivalent Test & Inspection)
  • 10+ years’ experience in the electrical industry, including 3‑5 years in a contracts or operations role
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ideally based within 30 miles of Bedfordshire
