Job summary

A public sector organization in Shrewsbury is seeking an Electrical Compliance Officer to ensure the highest standards of electrical compliance and safety across the Council’s estate. Responsibilities include managing contractor performance and conducting audits. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in a local authority compliance role. This is a full-time temporary position.

Qualifications

A client within the Public Sector based inShropshireis currently recruiting for aElectricalCompliance Officerto join theirteamas soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a compliance and building services environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to ensure the highest standards of electrical compliance and safety across the Council’s estate, delivering high-quality, cost-effective services that meet regulatory requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to :

  • Reviewing service report documentation, addressing findings, and ensuring compliance is consistently maintained.
  • Managing contractor performance, including KPIs and corrective actions where required.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating service contract specifications in line with legislation and Council standards.
  • Carrying out audits, inspections, and monitoring of building services systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Supporting the creation of a planned maintenance and asset replacement programme.
  • Providing guidance to staff and colleagues on compliance and safety practices.
