Overview

A client within the Public Sector based in Shropshire is currently recruiting for an Electrical Compliance Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full‑time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a compliance and building services environment.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing service report documentation, addressing findings, and ensuring compliance is consistently maintained.
  • Managing contractor performance, including KPIs and corrective actions where required.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating service contract specifications in line with legislation and Council standards.
  • Carrying out audits, inspections, and monitoring of building services systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Supporting the creation of a planned maintenance and asset replacement programme.
  • Providing guidance to staff and colleagues on compliance and safety practices.
Candidate / Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least five years’ experience in compliance management or a similar role.
Desirable Skills
  • Professional qualifications such as City & Guilds 2391, 2382 or equivalent.
  • Experience using CAFM systems and knowledge of CDM requirements.
  • Strong IT literacy including Microsoft 365.
  • Experience of working within a local authority or public sector environment.
Compensation

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £29 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
